University Level 6 final pieces

Semester 1

'Play and process' project - 2023

As this project started me off into my third year of University. It asked to be spontaneous and playful. A project focused on experimentation and exploration in search of something new and different from the mould as artists we tend to put ourselves in. I chose to put this project forward to begin with as I really experimented with different materials than my usual comfort zone, which allowed me to use new techniques of working and produce unique outcomes.

'Celebrate and Commemorate' project - 2023

This project asked us to dive into extensive research and there celebrate and commemorate a real world event or person in which the outcome of work can be portrayed in a celebratory, atmospheric, informative or critical manner. The lens to view the subject in question through is up for exploration as there can be ways in which the event/person has shaped or continues to shape today's culture.

I was very excited for this project as I had the desire to make work for this type of brief for a while. I knew I wanted to celebrate and commemorate ‘international food day’.

Food is a very important aspect of our lives for humans to survive in general, and having experienced a struggle with it in the past of my own relationship with food, I was

excited to spend time and research into food and what I was going to present for the final outcome. I love watching cooking shows as shown below. Coming from a split

nationality from two very different cultures (Italian and and Polish) that have a wide range of foods. I was inspired to research more and found a digital article/magazine about ‘food day’ and the project that took place for it.
